A program created to empower those working in leisure & health within the aged care & disability support sectors

Our Leading the Way in Health & Leisure Program facilitates the development of characteristics, skills and knowledge appropriate to those working in leisure and health within the aged care and disability support sectors.

This program has been created to enable participants to gain a current theoretical understanding and practical application of underpinning concepts for lifestyle, health and leisure as it is expectedby clients and other stakeholders to be delivered.

Participants will learn how to successfully develop and implement new programs in a competitive market where expectations in service delivery are intensifying.

They will further develop their leadership skills, enabling them to bring the latest thinking in lifestyle, health and leisure to the organisation through the encouragement of every team member across the organisation to engage them in creating a positive experience for the client as part of each daily activity.

We’ll build you into a leader who’ll be equipped to more skilfully and confidently;

understand the needs and demands of the next generations of clients, they want choice, including the Baby Boomers who are less tolerent of mediocrity,

learn ways to lead other colleagues to understand how to turn an everydaytask into a fun activity. This starts with waking in the morning you will learn to match the new Aged Care Quality Standards and disabilitystandards to Leisure & Health principles,

learn about brain plasticity, and how new brain pathways can be created to support clients to help rectify areas of deficit and improve their life outcomes,

build your knowledge about common health conditions so that you can develop relevant programs in conjunction with other allied health stakeholders, including physiotherapists and occupational therapists,

undertake client based product development, including researching and creatinginnovative programs that match clients’ dynamic needsbecome an influential leader that supports client choice,

Your development will be supported by our Whole Person Learning Model that understands that you’re unique and human - not a robot!

There’s no tests or exams and you’ll benefit from learning in live interactive virtual workshops sessions where you can share and swap your experiences alongside others.

Our live interactive virtual workshops sessions are highly interactive and you can have all your questions answered just as if they were all in the same room. These workshops have been designed to provide you with the ability to undertake your learning program during the COVID-19 outbreak from the safety of your own home. 

Sessions are scheduled 1 x weekday every 3 weeks across approximately 17 months to help you manage workloads and your existing commitments.

We’ve included extra coaching days within the program to help you stay on track and to help ensure that you keep a healthy work/home/study balance.

Program ‘take-aways’ ensure that you complete every session with useful new skills and knowledge to take back and use the next day at work.

Our Tuition Fees are a low and affordable and Skills First Program funding is in place to support you if you meet the eligibility criteria.

There are no additional materials costs (all your materials are included) or Admin Fees and payment plans are available if you need one.
